The Road Within

Life offers us many roads to take. What I am realizing is the most challenging road is the road within ourselves. This road has many obstacles, fear, shame, guilt, worthlessness, that creates many challenges to living life. Our human side wants to always look to the outer world to find the answers or blame for why our life is not what we want. I have spent my life wanting the outer world to be fixed so that I can enjoy a better life. But the outer world is not changing according to my desires. Hmmm,  that sucks. So I have to remind myself that the outer world, at the least the world that I experience on a daily basis up close and personal, is a reflection of my inner world. Hmmm, well that’s a pickle. What if I don’t want to journey down that road within me? Poor me, the victim. Yeah, that victim part of me who does not want to take the responsibility to journey within and discover all the false beliefs that are controlling me, and then work to release those beliefs and uncover the true essence of myself, the love, the compassion, the power of self-discovery.  I am sharing this with you to encourage you to, no matter what the outer circumstances of your life is, that the road to joy and love, is the road within. It is not an easy road to travel, often fret with emotional release, but the rewards of the journey within, the healing that occurs brings so much more enjoyment to your life. You start to notice subtle changes in how you respond to life’s challenges, they don’t seem so challenging. And as you begin to heal, you begin to experience a deeper connection with the people closest to you, especially those of like-mindedness. I encourage you to continue on your road within, don’t put any time limit on a healing, just keep going through the self-reflections, journal on these, and trust that each step, even the smallest one, will bring greater love and joy into your life.
